ALIBI by Teri Woods (Coming Soon)

Two men think they've found the perfect opportunity--a chance to rob the stash house of Simon Shuller, one of Philadelphia's biggest drug lords. But their plans are spoiled when one of Shuller's men catches them as they break into the stash house. Temperatures flare as the men capture Shuller's worker, Poncho, and force him to show them the goods. What they didn't expect was for Poncho's partner to be armed and very dangerous. An altercation breaks out and when the smoke clears, Nard, Poncho's accomplice, is the only one left standing. Thinking quickly, Nard cleans shop and makes his escape, but not before being spotted by a few neighbors. Not wanting to kill anyone else, he makes a mad dash for the streets but wonders if the witnesses will give up his identity. What he needs now is a plausible alibi. If he doesn't come up with one fast, it could mean life in prison, or death on the streets.

Behind the Boards: Zajazza

Musical Puzzle Snippet

Zajazza is a nomad DJ/Producer from France. He has been traveling the world since 2002, finding musical adventures in Chile, Brazil, Portugal and New York City. Zajazza specializes in digging traditional samples and bringing them to the Hip Hop production circle. On stage, he is known for spinning rare breaks, a vast collection of Brazilian music, rocking with MCs and making live beats on the MPC. A DJ/Turntablist, he has shared the turntables with the greatest DJs in the world: DJ Precision ( X-ecutioners, USA DMC champ 2007), DJ Q Bert (3 time World Champion), DJ Spiktacular (1999 ITF World champion).

In 2007, he spent the year in Brazil, digging and playing with the best Hip Hop DJs, and MCs: O Rappa, Nitro Di, DJ Only Jay. The same year, he released the mixtape “O Segredo da Beleza”, a selection of the best Brazilian Popular Music he collected while touring.

In 2008, he went to New York, and started to work with legendary underground artists of the 5 boroughs, from the Bronx, to Harlem, and Brooklyn.

He is currently working with rising MCs he met at Sin Sin Freestyle Mondays: Rabbi Darkside, Hired Gun and Farbeon (all from 3rd Party/Say Word Entertainment). He has also done great tracks with uptown artists Bill Blass, Lalibella & Rawaness an album is in work for the begining of 2010).Zajazza is fresh off the “2009 Skillz to Take Brazil Tour” with Rabbi Darkside and Hired Gun. During the two week tour, they rocked a number of shows and wrote/produced an entire new project featuring some of the most respected artists in Southern Brazil.

"My vision of music, is that it has no limit, each style brings something, I listen classical music, rock, jazz, brazilian music...
the beautifull thing of Hip Hop is that we use the best of everything to create our own thing.

I use samples, illegal or not (lol), that helps me a lot to create a groove, and to create a vibe. Now I work with various mcees, that s always a challenge, to make the sound which is in harmony with a style or a personality.

Now I am prepaing an album for Hired Gun and Rabbidarkside (Members of third party/ Brooklyn), it's be ready on october 2009.I am also producing for SOTE/ Servantz Of The Earth with Bill Blass and Rawaness, we are preparing something for the begining of 2010."

Video Games and Discrimination

| Sunday, July 19, 2009

What’s good everybody, there are a few things that I want to address about my online gaming experience. Some people feel that in today’s society racism and discrimination are not as bad as let’s say 50 years ago. In some instances that may seem to be true but one very appalling thing I noticed while playing video games online is the amount of racism and discrimination in the Xbox live community. In online gaming racism is alive and well the only difference with online gaming is the people online have no problems speaking there minds. I guess the reason behind the gateway to open communication is because there is a slim chance that a lot of these people will never meet their targets of ignorance. The thing that really amazes me is that it’s not adults saying these negative things it is the children. They are the majority online playing video games. One night I was playing Grand Theft Auto and as I was leaving the match I said goodnight and blessings to everyone, out of the blue this kid (I am assuming he may have been younger than 15) starts to scream racial slurs for no reason. The main question is where are they learning these trends of racism and hatred from? I would have never thought someone could get mad over a game of Uno, it’s just Uno. If I am playing Uno online and I win a hand, someone comments I hate black people they win at everything, they have basketball, football, taken over golf, the Mexicans have soccer, and both Mexicans and Black people have taken our white women. These are just a few examples of racial discrimination that I have experienced but I feel bad for women and young girls as well. Women are either getting disrespected, spoken to like call girls, kicked from games for being a female or not given a chance to show and prove skills because “girls don’t play video games.” I’m tired of preaching that’s just my two cents, I am working on a project to help the online gaming experience. More details to come soon.

Ghostface Killah - Cell Block Z (Graphic novel review)

| Friday, July 10, 2009

Peace and blessings to all, I am proud to present to you a excellent read for everyone. You do not have to be a hip hop or Wutang fan to enjoy this novel but if you are it makes the experience of this well composed graphic novel elevate to a new level. I did not know what to expect from this novel, but Cell Block Z stands on its own when compared to its predecessor Method Man. The storyline is compelling and the illustrations from Chris Walker are remarkable balancing the gritty subject matter. Cell Block Z is a excellent read from cover to cover, leaving the reading wanting to know whats the next step for Ghostface Killah or awaiting the next installment. Just like the Method Man novel, I would love to see this novel turning into a animated series or a movie composed of these two novels. You will not be disappointed from this novel check it out to see if Ghost makes it to Cell Block Z.
