Inside the multiplayer modes of Alien vs Predator

EOP has got me very excited about AVP and I can not wait, the game looks classic. Check out the footage, will this be a MW2 slayer in my mind it is.


In preparation of Aliens vs. Predator being released on the 19th of February (not long game fans), here’s a little bit of info on the seven different multiplayer modes. Which one are you most looking forward to?


DEATH MATCH:
If you love a game with frantic, brutal chaos then Death Match in AVP multiplayer is for you. It’s all about getting the most kills in the time limit set. Players can also win the match by hitting the target score before anyone else.

INFESTATION:
For total over-whelming mayhem, nothing comes close to the tension and potential for pant-wetting scenarios than INFESTATION. One player starts the match as an Alien Hunter and their task is to kill the Marine prey. When a Marine player is killed they will join the Alien Hunter team and help to kill off any remaining Marines.


MIXED SPECIES DEATH MATCH:
just like Death Match, but with mixed species. Two teams, made up from all three species fight to get the most kills in the set time limit or to reach the target score before the other team.


SURVIVOR:
For the ultimate test of stamina, play Survivor Mode. Survivor allows for up to four players to enter an arena to fight waves of progressively stronger aliens. Each arena will be set up with two main areas. One will be a platform which is relatively easy to defend; the other will be an area where ambush by aliens is more likely. Supplies of health and ammo will re-spawn in this second area.


PREDATOR HUNT:
If you’re after a more stealthy multiplayer game go for Predator Hunt. In this mode one player is selected to become the Predator Hunter, the rest of the players take the role of the Marine prey. The Hunter must use the Predator’s stealth abilities and advanced equipment to pick off the prey and score points. The Marines will need to defend themselves from this threat and if possible, to kill the Hunter.


SPECIES DEATH MATCH:
Species Death Match pits a Marine team, Alien team and Predator team against each other in a race to get the most kills within the set time limit or to reach the target score before any of the other teams.


DOMINATION:
Take capture the flag to a whole new level with Domination. In Domination two teams fight for ownership of Control Points around the level. Owning a Control Point gives the team a small and steady, stream of points. The more Control Points owned, the more that team scores. A team will win when their score has reached 100 points.

Aliens vs Predator will feature single player and multiplayer. Single player will allow the player to play each side, Marine, Predator and Alien, the story takes place on Colony World BG 386, the colony site is named “Freya’s Prospect” and locations include, a dense jungle environment, colony interior, mines, and a Predator containment pyramid.

No class system for multiplayer, players will be able to customize their characters however.

"There will be an entertaining variety of character "skins" for people to choose from, however - including a some never-seen-before Predator Mask types. As for 'Dog' Aliens, you'll have to wait and see ... "

Video Games and Discrimination

What’s good everybody, there are a few things that I want to address about my online gaming experience. Some people feel that in today’s society racism and discrimination are not as bad as let’s say 50 years ago. In some instances that may seem to be true but one very appalling thing I noticed while playing video games online is the amount of racism and discrimination in the Xbox live community. In online gaming racism is alive and well the only difference with online gaming is the people online have no problems speaking there minds. I guess the reason behind the gateway to open communication is because there is a slim chance that a lot of these people will never meet their targets of ignorance. The thing that really amazes me is that it’s not adults saying these negative things it is the children. They are the majority online playing video games. One night I was playing Grand Theft Auto and as I was leaving the match I said goodnight and blessings to everyone, out of the blue this kid (I am assuming he may have been younger than 15) starts to scream racial slurs for no reason. The main question is where are they learning these trends of racism and hatred from? I would have never thought someone could get mad over a game of Uno, it’s just Uno. If I am playing Uno online and I win a hand, someone comments I hate black people they win at everything, they have basketball, football, taken over golf, the Mexicans have soccer, and both Mexicans and Black people have taken our white women. These are just a few examples of racial discrimination that I have experienced but I feel bad for women and young girls as well. Women are either getting disrespected, spoken to like call girls, kicked from games for being a female or not given a chance to show and prove skills because “girls don’t play video games.” I’m tired of preaching that’s just my two cents, I am working on a project to help the online gaming experience.
