Duke Nukem Forever Review

| Thursday, June 23, 2011
This is a special review by one of the homies I game with. The lil homie bulletproof555 (XBL Gamertag)is currently working on his own website and I'll keep everyone posted with details. As for now you can follow him on twitter @bulletproof5555

Campaign - The story line was solid, understandable, and funny as always. There are some times where the game lags and the frame rate slows down but that happens in most games any way. There are a few puzzles but are fairly easy you just have to use your brain a little bit. The games intro is pretty badass but I'm not going to spoil that. The story was medium to long in length and there are plenty of things to do and find in Duke Nukem such as play pinball, take a piss just to name a few. The loading screens are long as hell and do get pretty damn annoying at times. The graphics are fine I don't see why people complain the graphics aren't going to be like Crysis 2 but if you can see the strippers titts then the graphics are fine. The humor is in every level and the boss battles keep you entertained and a little bit of a challenge. There isn't that much of a variety of guns but its whatever. The achievements/Trophies are pretty easy except 3 which are going to take some time out of your day. You really can't hate this game its about a man who loves guns and tittys what else could you ask for.

Multiplayer - Nobody bought Duke Nukem for multiplayer but its decent its nothing special. You can get your kills in but the aiming system sucks so your going to be unloading A LOT of bullets but you will eventually get a kill. There are your basic game modes but Duked over. Like Team Duke Match or Capture The Babe. The look sensitivity is pretty stiff in campaign and multiplayer so your going to have to amp it up like 5,6, or 7. When you level up in multiplayer you can get items to customize Duke like a pimp hat, uniforms or glasses. Also when you level up you can customize your crib in multiplayer and get items like pig cop statues or air hockey tables. Leveling up is a pain but you can get through it if you play enough.

Overall - The game was good I had a good time playing and frustrating times over puzzles that were so simple. There is a little freezing in the game on Xbox 360 but I'm not sure on PS3. I rate this game a 7.3 but I would of rated it higher if the loadings screens weren't so damn long, a variety of guns, and different enemies instead of just rushing pig cops, aliens, and the same bosses over and over. The multiplayer i could careless for but its something to do when you beat the story. The soundtrack is good and intense and the comments he says are always funny. The game is fine and I dont't understand why it got bad reviews it not call of duty, battlefield, Halo, or Grand Theft Auto its a man who has to save the world who so happens to like guns. bitches, and beer. The game came out 12 years ago understand that.

Shift 2 Unleashed (Video Game Review)

| Thursday, March 31, 2011

Shift 2 Unleashed is the newest edition to the Need for Speed series and just like the first Shift this title is more of a racing sim in comparison to Hot Pursuit series. This isn't a title where you can never touch the breaks and expect to win, Shift 2 is for a more disciplined drivers. Granted S2 is not Forza but its the next best titled to hold all car enthusiast over until this winter for the next Forza installment.

At some points in S2 the cars seem to be heavy and the controls seem unresponsive, I understand all cars handle different but not for the vehicles being driven at the time. I really enjoyed driving at night time on S2 it was a really nice feature and seemed very realistic. Driving at top speeds at night time and everything on the screen was a complete blur. The helmet cam is unbelievable especially while drifting corners turning your head looking at the crowd. I must admit playing this title was a lot of fun while rocking my turtle beach headset and using the steering wheel controller. Some of the negatives from Hot Pursuit did carry over into this title but everything that was done correct on Hot Pursuit is on Shift 2.

All in all Shift 2 is a good title, the game physics are very good. If you haven't picked up Need for Speed Hot Pursuit yet and you are looking for a more realistic racer Shift 2 is the title for you. I give Shift 2 4.5 out of 5 fingers to the face.

According to Costa - GoldenEye 007 Review

| Thursday, December 9, 2010

DISCLAIMER: I am a Microsoft fangirl and I approached this review as unbiased as I can be.

Before I get this review started, I have to show love to Digs and HL, whenever you want us to review a game just let us know fellas, thanks for the support. Golden Eye 007 is a excellent game for "Wii" standards, to take a classic game and revamp it for today's standards was a great idea. The biggest problem where this title fails is not being ported on to other consoles. The look, sound, and feel of GE007 is really good even though the Wii is not 1080p. GE007 has a high replay value, when the difficulty is changed more objectives are added though out the level.

The only problems I really ran encountered was aiming and not having anyone to play with. The aiming system will at a little weird at times when you aim around close corners. I really had no one to experience the greatness of the 4 player split screen because all of my friends play the xbox 360 and not the Wii. I give a GE007 a 4 out of 5 because of the aiming issues. Overall this title is a excellent game but its really not worth me buying a Wii to play a handful of titles. I can wait for a Wii to be 50 bucks and buy it then, it will play the same there is no rush to spend excess money for one title. It might be easier to buy a used SNES off ebay, craigslist, or a pawn shop and spend less money. If you already had a Wii, buy Golden Eye 007 its worth it.

According to Costa: Zumba Fitness

| Tuesday, December 7, 2010

I have no idea where to start with this review, besides saying bottom line Zumba Fitness is a workout from hell. Its not a bad work out but a good work out, I know I have lost some pounds since buying Kinect and especially since the purchase of Zumba Fitness. Zumba Fitness takes the gym workout experience and delivers it to your home right in from of your TV. You don't have to worry about being embarrassed from being off beat, missing steps completely, or worried about perverts staring at you while working out. Avoiding the perverts is a huge plus for me, but going to the gym seems to much like a job. Playing Zumba Fitness on Kinect makes working out fun. In comparison to the other kinect title Dance Central, Zumba Fitness is very advance in relations to difficulty. Dance Central provides dance cards for you to prompt the next dance step but with Zumba Fitness its pretty much learn as you go besides the basic tutorials. On a scale of 1 to 10, I will give Zumba fitness an 8 because it can be frustrating at times trying to blend the moves and the main menu interface is just down right horrible. Besides those flaw, you will experience a excellent workout.

Alan Wake Final Thoughts

| Sunday, May 30, 2010

Blessings to everyone, being Costa provided the first thoughts of Alan Wake, I will provide the final thoughts. I really don't even know where to start, the game was a great experience and I had a blast playing it. This review will not be filled with spoilers so have no worries reading if you intend on playing the game. The final thoughts will basically go over the value of the game because that's the bottom line. To some people they feel the need to have to play video games online and they can not enjoy a single player game. I am not that type of person. Alan Wake brought something fresh to the table that has not been done in a video games before and that is a definite plus for me. The environments created in the game play is remarkable, the mood is set in every episode/chapter in Alan Wake's journey to seek for the truth. Based on Costa's review she is correct the campaign is 12-15 hours long and it should really be played through twice to gather all information. Is Alan Wake really worth the 59.99 price tag in my opinion yes it is because its fresh and entertaining. BUT if you can borrow it from a friend or rent it by all means do so, if you do not have any intentions on playing through the game twice or purchasing the downloadable content being released in July and later this year. For the experience the game is worth it but for playing through it really quick you may want to think twice. At the same time the average first person shooter multiplayer campaign last for about 6-10 hours, but there is limitless hours of multiplayer fun. So I purchased Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption at the same time so that's why I really have no complaints about Alan Wake not have online gameplay. Being Alan Wake plays like a movie I really hate movies that leave me with more questions than answers and Alan Wake really leaves you with a million and one questions. The ending is pure open interpretation, with that being said play it today.

Red Dead Redemption - First Thoughts

| Monday, May 24, 2010

After Costa did her review of Alan Wake last week, I felt inclined to share my thoughts on Red Dead Redemption being Alan Wake has no online game play. To sum up RDR real quick, its created by the same company that developed Grand Theft Auto and basically an open world Western with the main character seeking revenge on his brother. If you guys are familiar with the Grand Theft open world, RDR is the same way but with tighter controls. To sum up the controls to all of my die hard gamers its a third person Modern Warfare 2 mixed with Grand Theft Auto. A explanation of the MW2 comparison, is best explained by the auto aim feature when snapping on to opponents to shoot. The campaign mode of RDR is really good so far, some of the missions can be tedious, because some players may not want to herd cattle and tame horses but thats what happened in those days. RDR online gameplay is packed with several game modes ranging from Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, free roam, raiding game hideouts, gold rush and much more. RDR is a game for friends, the more friends you have playing online with you creates a remarkable gaming experience. You can create posses to ride out on computer generated enemies or terrorize the other people playing online. Go ahead and saddle up today, if you need some people to play with holler at us GAMERTAGS: eyesofphases, ddg nj, FS87 Shinigami, CDG1081

Alan Wake First Thoughts

| Thursday, May 20, 2010

A lot of buzz has been surrounding the release of Alan Wake for the Xbox 360 and some people question is the hype deserving. Here is some background for those who are not familiar with the plot. Basically Alan Wake and his wife go to Bright Walls to retreat away the busy city life, while he is there his life is kidnapped and of course he must rescue her. I will not go into the plot but so deep to avoid spoilers. The environments in Alan Wake are incredible and the game has a eerie feeling to it making game play very spooky. The plot is addictive and very suspenseful. The game play is very fresh and original, Alan Wake must use light to strip his opponents of "darkness" before he can began to attack, or otherwise Wake's attacks has no effects on his enemies. Some of the reviews I read for Alan Wake had complaints about the controls there is nothing really wrong with the controls. As of right now I am about 5 hours into the total game and their have been reports stating the Alan Wake is 12 - 15 hours long, to some Alan Wake is not worth the price tag because it has NO online game play. On the other hand there will be expansions to the game this summer to make it longer. Below I have posted some videos of the game play, the final thoughts of Alan Wake will be posted upon completion of the game.

Blur - Multiplayer Beta Demo Review

| Tuesday, March 9, 2010

This is a brief review for Blur the Game beta testing multiplayer demo. The easiest way to sum up Blur is Mario Kart with real cars and its great. The gameplay is smooth and the graphics look great. Unlike some of the other racers out there on the market Blur will not bore you. Actually when I first started playing the beta I played for about an hour without any notion of what time it was. For the multiplayer of beta of Blur I give it 4 out of 5 fingers to the face.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Video Game Review)

| Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Peace everyone this is Costa striking again, I wanted to give my opinion on Battlefield Bad Company 2. BC2 is really a great game, some may complain the campaign is too short but who really buys games like this for the campaign anyway, they are bought for the online multi player. The campaign is good it doesn't have as many twist as Modern Warfare 2 but its good in its own right. The online game play is awesome but I said the same thing about MW2 when I first got it. Then the glitches, cheaters and campers came out, now MW2 can give me a headache at times filled with frustration with all of the bull going on. I can't fault the developers of the game for that but the people playing. At this moment I can play BF2 with ease and no frustration, no headache, and no bull. The weapons upgrades and pins and dog tag systems are very rewarding. You can knife somebody and take there dog tags, drive all types of vehicles from cars, boats, atvs, choppers and more. When I spoke to EOP about the game he was killing people with land mines, how disrespectful is that. Lets be real who gets knifed in the leg or shot in the hips and dying on MW2, C'mon son get the f**k outta here with that bull. If you every have the sensation of running around like a superhero threw bullets pop in MW2 but you wont do that in BC2. When I bought BC2 the geek at Gamestop was telling me "you must work as a team there is no run and gun." Real talk from me thats bull, I have played squad death match which goes to 50 kills and I got over half of my teams kills, its having tactic while running and gunning not being wreckless. Time will tell so for now I will give the game 4.5 fingers to the face out of 5, when comparing it to the stressful Modern Warfare 2 I think I will choose BC2. The campaign is good, the graphics are great and the online multiplayer is stressfree.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - 4.5 out of 5 fingers to the face
